This rustic tallow bar soap is unscented and handmade in small batches right here on Vancouver Island, featuring local, grass-finished tallow.

Rich in naturally occurring fats, tallow creates a creamy, nourishing lather that cleanses without stripping the skin. Coconut oil adds a touch of bubbly softness, helping the soap rinse clean while still feeling comforting. With no added scent, it’s an excellent choice for sensitive or easily irritated skin and for anyone who prefers truly fragrance-free products.

Ingredients: 75% Sodium Tallowate (saponified tallow), 25% Sodium Cocoate (saponified coconut oil)

Note: Sodium Hydroxide (lye) is used in the soapmaking process but is not present in final product due to process of saponification.

What is tallow?

Tallow is rendered beef fat, specifically the internal fat from around the kidneys. While it's a "trendy" term now, tallow as skincare has been around for centuries.  It's actually one of the oldest forms of skincare.
Where do you source your tallow?

We source our suet from local Vancouver Island family run farms. We use grass fed & finished suet to ensure our products are as pure and natural as possible.

​We render the suet to tallow ourselves to ensure the highest quality product.

What is can I use tallow for?

Tallow is a great daily  moisturizer! It may also help with inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and help provide relief for irritated skin, sun damage, stretch marks, scar healing, minor rashes, etc. It's also a great makeup remover.

How is tallow sustainable?

Rendering the suet and using the tallow, either in cooking or as skincare, actually makes use of a part of the animal that during processing, typically goes to waste. We believe that as much of the animal should be used as possible, with minimal waste. Tallow as skincare upcycles this underused, undervalued part of the animal!
