Ingredients: adeps bovis (grass fed/finished beef tallow), *Calendula officinalis (calendula), *Matricaria recutita (chamomile), organic Olea europaea (olive) oil, organic Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) essential oil *certified organic or homegrown using organic practices

In the unscented balm, tallow is blended with nourishing organic olive and jojoba oils. This all-natural moisturizer not only hydrates but also soothes the skin, making it an ideal all-purpose solution for head-to-toe skincare. Free of essential oils, perfect for sensitive skin.

What is tallow?
Tallow is rendered beef fat, specifically the internal fat from around the kidneys. While it's a "trendy" term now, tallow as skincare has been around for centuries. It's actually one of the oldest forms of skincare.
Where do you source your tallow?
We source our suet from local Vancouver Island family run farms. We use grass fed & finished suet to ensure our products are as pure and natural as possible.
We render the suet to tallow ourselves to ensure the highest quality product.
Why would the consistency be different jar to jar?
Tallow is a natural product, with no chemicals, preservatives, or stabilizers. This means that the color, scent, and consistency could vary between batches. While we use the same ingredients with each batch, any variations simply come down to the fact that it's a pure product without additives, so it can naturally vary. Rest assured it is the same high quality product in each jar.
At times, "beading" may occur where some fatty components of the tallow solidify differently than others, resulting in small bead like bits. These don't affect the quality of the product in any way, they simply need to be warmed in your hand and they'll melt in as usual.
As well, you'll notice that the tallow in your jar will be softer in warm temperatures, and become quite firm in cooler temperatures. Simply warm it up in your hands before applying to desired area.
Solid balm vs whipped, what's the difference?
Just the texture! The balm and whip are the same recipe, just the whip is softer and easier to scoop out of the jar with your finger. Many prefer the whipped for applying to larger areas of the body.
The solid balm is firmer, and is great for applying as spot treatments to areas needing extra care.
What is can I use tallow for?
Tallow is a great daily moisturizer! It may also help with inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and help provide relief for irritated skin, sun damage, stretch marks, scar healing, minor rashes, etc. It's also a great makeup remover.
How is tallow sustainable?
Rendering the suet and using the tallow, either in cooking or as skincare, actually makes use of a part of the animal that during processing, typically goes to waste. We believe that as much of the animal should be used as possible, with minimal waste. Tallow as skincare upcycles this underused, undervalued part of the animal!
